Dr. Jeanne Best
Dr. Jeanne Best

Over 20 years experience
plus a lifetime of working with horses...

Dr. Jeanne Best, a Buffalo native, attended St. Louis University prior to going to Veterinary school at the University of Missouri. After graduation she was selected by the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada to be an intern in the Large Animal Medicine and Surgery Department. Upon successful completion of this internship, she practiced in Nova Scotia for two years at Acadia Equine Services.

Deciding to move back closer to home, she went into practice in East Aurora. For six years, Dr. Best worked at Great Lakes Equine Practice with Dr. Leslie Personett. The decision to make a career move resulted in the formation of what is now known as Royalton Equine Veterinary Services.

What had started as an equine veterinary dentistry practice has grown and developed into a full service ambulatory practice filling the needs of horse owners in Niagara County as well as northern Erie and western Genesee counties. Dr. Best also continues to provide dental care for clients as far south as the Jamestown area. The completion of the clinic has been beneficial to offer services to horses out of the area and to provide clients with an opportunity to have their horse attended to in a hospital setting.

Dr. Best was awarded the Regional Merit Award from the Western New York Veterinary Medical Association.

On Nov. 14, 2013 Dr. Best was awarded the Regional Merit Award from the Western New York Veterinary Medical Association. This was in recognition of her “Outstanding Service and Dedication to the Profession of Veterinary Medicine.”

In 2015, Royalton Equine Veterinary Services qualified to become a member partner of the LMU-CVM Community-Based Veterinary Teaching Hospital system. Royalton Equine Veterinary Services now becomes one of an exclusive group of qualified clinical course sites in which LMU-CVM fourth-year veterinary students will spend rotations gaining supervised quality clinical experience.
