Burial Options
Horses are living longer, but unfortunately death is a part of living. Planning ahead offers some relief when the inevitable arrives.
The American Association of Equine Practitioners advises, “Make arrangements in advance for the prompt removal and disposal of the body. Check with your veterinarian and/or the city or county health department. Many municipalities have ordinances prohibiting or restricting burial. Removal to a rendering facility or pet crematory may be required.”
